Synthesia, one of the biggest names in British AI, took 20,000 sq ft at British Land’s Regent’s Place in London’s Knowledge Quarter for its new headquarters, with Thirdway as design and build partner. The brief asked for a knowledge hub: purpose-driven zones for different modes of work, balancing the company’s brand with the landlord’s asset standards.

The floor opens socially. Reception, a tiled pantry bar, lounge seating and a games corner share one hall beneath a halo pendant, with a digital floorplan totem pointing the way. Meeting rooms with futurist names (Pulse, Nova, Spark) line the window bays alongside open desking, lockers and phone booths, and everywhere the planting is generous. At the centre of the open plan sits The Spaceship: a circular collaboration space beneath a navy canopy with glowing light rings, wrapped in sheer curtains.

The quietest move is the best one. The Library, a solo-work zone in dark green and ecru, pairs backlit oak shelving with felt privacy screens and lounge chairs, giving heads-down work a room of real character. A navy-trimmed boardroom completes the set, with Synthesia’s brand blue woven subtly through furniture and screens.
